"If you want to be perfect,
go sell what you own,
give it to the poor,
then come
follow Me."
“God, here I come to You, in whom I have placed my trust,
whom I have loved, and whom I have always sought.”
(Prayer of the candidate before being admitted to postulancy)
Postulancy lasts for approximately one year. This period is dedicated to discerning whether God is calling me to this Congregation. It serves as a stage of formation in preparation for the novitiate. During this journey, I will be accompanied by the Sister Mistress of the postulants.
The time of novitiate is a period of full introduction to monastic life. It lasts two years. It aims to gain a deeper understanding of the vocation specific to Sisters Servants. During this time, novices learn the essential duties of monastic life, become familiar with the spirituality of the Congregation, develop a love for prayer, and gradually adopt the lifestyle based on the evangelical counsels.
After completing the novitiate, the sisters make temporary vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience for one year.
This period of formation is irreplaceable and significant, as novices begin to respond personally to the call of Christ through the unique lifestyle of the institute. It is essentially two years spent "in the desert," under the guidance of Jesus, to learn how to live with love.
The perpetual profession is not the conclusion of a great adventure. Instead, it signifies an ongoing journey of love, urging the human heart toward growth and transformation. With even greater freedom, this love can flourish, undeterred by hesitation or limits of devotion. A sister who has made a perpetual profession constantly renews the fervor of her first love. Daily prayers, days of reflection, and retreats help in transforming her entire life into a sacrifice that is pleasing to God. Meaningful prayer radiates throughout her various activities and ministries uniting the human heart with God in every interaction, whether it’s during a busy day, through tired legs, or a sweaty forehead.
"The formation process within the Congregation of Sisters Servants empowers candidates to fully develop their personalities and embrace their vocation. It teaches them to perfect essential human values, appreciate the treasures of holy faith, and commit themselves fully to God. They follow the example of the Immaculate Virgin by living the evangelical counsels within the community and serving others selflessly."
